About the position

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for enhancing the customer experience, training and developing store staff, and maintaining store standards both on the sales floor and in the stockroom. This role involves leading by example, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales and profitability while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the customer experience and ensure high levels of customer service.
  • Train and develop store staff, providing ongoing feedback and coaching.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure cleanliness of the sales floor and stockroom.
  • Meet or exceed sales and profitability goals for the store.
  • Manage payroll expectations and control company assets through loss prevention measures.
  • Execute and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Use sound judgment in decision-making and maintain excellent communication skills.
  • Adapt to changes in the business environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in retail management with a proven track record in driving sales and profit results.
  • Experience in training and developing a team of individuals.
  • Proficiency in personal computer use and detailed report analysis.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting in excess of 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of eight hours during scheduled shifts.
