About the position

The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in leading and directing front line associates to ensure exceptional customer experiences at a retail location. This position is responsible for overseeing various operational aspects, including cash management, inventory control, loss prevention, and maintaining store appearance, while fostering a productive and positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and lead activities of associates to ensure high productivity and world-class customer service.
  • Provide appropriate associate cross-training for operational stability.
  • Respond quickly to customer complaints and warranty issues, processing casualty losses and repair damages.
  • Manage work order assignments and routing of mobile jobs, ensuring timely procedures and vehicle loading.
  • Train associates on installation techniques, vehicle maintenance, required documentation, and internal technology platforms.
  • Monitor productivity, inventory, and cleanliness to meet quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED/Equivalent or 3-5 years of leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license required.
  • 1+ year of supervisory/leadership/key holder experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in retail or service center environments; automotive experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, web applications, and general office equipment.
  • Comfort working outside in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. for short periods, work at elevated heights, and remain on feet for extended periods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
