About the position

The Assistant Store Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in various aspects of store operations, including sales, customer service, and maintaining the overall appearance of the store. This position is designed for individuals who are ready to take on leadership responsibilities, as the Assistant Store Manager will manage the store in the absence of the Store Manager or during opposing shifts. The primary focus will be on leading the store team to deliver exceptional customer service to both retail and professional customers, ensuring that the store operates smoothly and efficiently at all times. In this role, the Assistant Store Manager will supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, ensuring that team members execute customer service programs effectively. This includes overseeing staffing at the retail sales counter, particularly during peak business hours such as lunch, late afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The Assistant Manager will also assist the Store Manager in setting team member goals, providing constructive feedback, coaching, and mentoring to ensure that all team members are up-to-date with their training and development. The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for various operational tasks, including managing online orders, processing customer returns and exchanges, and ensuring that all merchandise is invoiced correctly before leaving the store. Additionally, the Assistant Manager will communicate important messages to the team, delegate merchandising tasks, and ensure compliance with company policies regarding work schedules and timekeeping. The role also includes performing store opening and closing duties, securing the store, and maintaining the physical environment of the store and its surroundings. Responsibilities

  • Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  • Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom to include team member execution on customer service programs.
  • Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak business hours.
  • Assist the store manager in setting team member goals and providing feedback on goal achievement.
  • Make sure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
  • Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders are processed in a timely manner.
  • Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently.
  • Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed efficiently and refunds are issued accurately.
  • Ensure all merchandise is invoiced before product leaves the store.
  • Ensure that Zipline messages are communicated and merchandising tasks are completed as assigned.
  • Make sure all team members comply with company policies regarding work schedules and timekeeping.
  • Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures and securing the building.
  • Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building and surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification are required.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish, is highly desired.
