About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at Knitwell Group plays a crucial role in leading store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. This position is responsible for achieving financial objectives, managing talent, and maintaining operational controls while embodying the company's leadership principles. The Assistant Manager will operate as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Store Manager and will be instrumental in driving store performance and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead activities to achieve store goals including financial objectives and client service.
  • Operate as the Manager on Duty in the absence of another Manager.
  • Support all aspects of talent management including recruiting, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Assist in filling positions with qualified talent and develop internal bench strength.
  • Utilize continuous coaching to maximize abilities of all associates and encourage growth.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws.
  • Represent Lane Bryant by adhering to 'Dress Your Best' guidelines and educate associates on marketing initiatives.
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively, empowering the team to do the same.
  • Drive operational excellence and lead by example to set a high-performing culture.
  • Support visual updates and maintain visual merchandising standards.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, supervisory, and customer service skills.
  • 6 months to 1 year of specialty retail experience, preferably in a selling environment.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
  • Technology proficient with strong business acumen.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; other languages are desirable.
