About the position

The Assistant Store Office Manager at Woods Supermarket plays a crucial role in managing cash office responsibilities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with company policies. This position supports the Store Office Manager and is essential for the smooth operation of the store's financial activities, including balancing tills, preparing deposits, and training new teammates. The role requires a strong focus on customer service and teamwork in a grocery store environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately balance all tills and maintain an accurate total of each till's over/short for the day.
• Create and balance the Daily Accounting Report (DAR) efficiently and accurately.
• Verify and count all pulled cash for deposits from previous day's sales.
• Prepare all deposits for the bank following company policies and procedures.
• Balance lottery and utility kiosk funds daily.
• Utilize programs to investigate shortages, voids, refunds, and suspicious cashier activity.
• Maintain compliance with the company's AML policies and procedures as the Compliance Officer for the store.
• Monitor front end service and call for additional front end help as needed.
• Maintain a clean front end, including cleaning bathrooms and managing shopping carts.
• Train new teammates on guest service and front end functions.
• Perform general office clerical functions as needed, including invoice processing and scheduling.
• Open/close the store as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of cash handling experience.
• Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Ability to provide prompt and courteous guest service.
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
• Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others.
