About the position

The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Grinnell College will provide high-level strength and conditioning programming under the direction of the Head Coach. This role focuses on performance enhancement, injury prevention, and fostering an inclusive culture within the Athletic Department. The position requires collaboration with Athletic Performance staff and administrative duties to support the college's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular attendance in accordance with department policy.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Understand and comply with the policies of the College Staff Handbook.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer service and establish effective relationships with internal and external customers.
• Perform duties as a team member in a manner supportive of department and College procedures, policies, and goals.
• Protect confidentiality of College information.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Communicate with others in a courteous and helpful manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
• 3+ years of collegiate coaching experience
• CSCS and/or CSCCa certification(s) required
• Current CPR/AED certification is required; it can be completed after hire
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Master's degree preferred.
