The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will play a vital role in supporting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in overseeing the Strength and Conditioning Program for the university's 24 NCAA Division I sports teams. This position involves developing tailored strength and conditioning programs for both male and female student-athletes, ensuring that these programs are effective and safe. The Assistant Coach will maintain a thorough understanding of best practices in the field to promote the health, safety, and welfare of all student-athletes under their supervision. In addition to program development, the Assistant Coach will supervise and coordinate strength and conditioning activities for various men's and women's sports as required. This includes performing strength testing and evaluations, implementing sports science technology and software, and ensuring that all exercises are executed safely and correctly. Effective communication with athletic trainers and coaches is essential to ensure a cohesive approach to athlete development. The role requires a willingness to work a non-traditional schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the student-athletes and the program. The Assistant Coach will also be responsible for adhering to all departmental and university policies, as well as the rules and regulations set forth by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the NCAA. Continuous education and maintaining required certifications and training are also critical components of this position, along with any additional duties assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
