The Springfield City School District is seeking an Assistant Supervisor of Food Services for the 2024-2025 school year. This role is responsible for supporting food service operations, managing employees, and overseeing systems related to food and nutrition, including student accounting, inventory management, and vendor communications. The position plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and educational regulations while promoting efficiency within the food service department.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Supervisor of Food & Nutrition in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Manage, develop, implement, and monitor computerized reporting systems in the Food & Nutrition Department.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of the purchasing system based on standardized menus.
• Direct workflow to promote kitchen personnel efficiency, particularly regarding cashier operations.
• Review cashier reports for completeness and accuracy.
• Perform employee annual reviews and take corrective actions as necessary.
• Assist in training and orientation of employees.
• Support menu planning and development alongside the Supervisor of Food and Nutrition.
• Monitor compliance with standardized recipes and programs at all locations.
• Review and recommend revisions to menus based on seasonal availability and commodities.
• Develop strategies to maximize revenues and reduce expenses while maintaining compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food service operations or high volume production environment.
• Ability to work within guidelines from health and education departments.
• Knowledge of computer systems related to order entry, student accounting, and POS management.
