About the position

The Assistant Teacher, On Call position at the University of Colorado Boulder is essential for providing childcare services to families affiliated with the university and the broader Boulder community. This role involves collaborating with lead teachers to create a nurturing and safe environment for children aged 6 weeks to 8 years, implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans, and supporting the training of university student employees.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned children/infant groups and interact with them using appropriate guidance techniques.
• Assist with writing lesson plans for educational and recreational purposes in collaboration with the Lead Teacher.
• Maintain effective communication with teaching teams and office staff, ensuring confidentiality in all communications.
• Facilitate direct contact with parents regarding their child's behavior and needs under the supervision of the Lead Teacher.
• Inspect and communicate the condition of indoor/outdoor materials and equipment to ensure student safety.
• Attend staff in-services, workshops, and conferences for professional growth.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to pass a Pre-Placement Physical and background checks.
• Meet at least one of the specified qualifications based on the Colorado Office of Early Childhood requirements, such as a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
