About the position

The Assistant Teacher at Children of America (COA) plays a vital role in executing the preschool curriculum alongside the Lead Teacher and a dedicated team of educators. This position is designed for individuals passionate about early childhood education, providing a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and the sharing of unique perspectives. The program caters to children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, offering various educational services including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before and After Care, and Summer Camp.

Responsibilities

  • Directly support Lead Teacher in carrying out daily lessons.
  • Willingness to grow into Lead Teacher roles.
  • Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills.
  • Utilize technology to deliver child progress updates.
  • Ensure a safe and structured learning environment.
  • Be empathetic to children's emotions and parents' needs.
  • Present age-appropriate expectations for children.
  • Be creative, passionate about work, and have fun.

Requirements

  • 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare setting.
