About the position

As an Assistant Teacher at Children of America (COA), you will play a vital role in executing our curriculum and supporting the Lead Teacher in delivering high-quality early childhood education. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about working with preschool children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, and who thrive in a collaborative and supportive environment. You will be part of a talented team of educators, where your unique attributes, perspectives, and backgrounds will contribute to a rich and diverse workplace culture. Our programs include Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before and After Care, and Summer Camp, providing a comprehensive educational experience for children. In this role, you will interact daily with the Lead Teacher, children, parents, management team, and fellow teaching staff. Your responsibilities will include directly supporting the Lead Teacher in carrying out daily lessons, ensuring a safe and structured learning environment, and effectively communicating with parents and staff. You will also have the opportunity to grow into a Lead Teacher role, enhancing your professional development and career advancement within the organization. Responsibilities

  • Directly support Lead Teacher in carrying out daily lessons.
  • Willingness to grow into Lead Teacher roles.
  • Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills.
  • Utilize technology to deliver child progress updates.
  • Ensure a safe and structured learning environment.
  • Be empathetic to children's emotions and parents' needs.
  • Present expectations that are appropriate to the child's age.
  • Be creative, passionate about your work, and have fun.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED

  • Must be First Aid/CPR trained
  • Must meet all state requirements.
