The Teacher Assistant (TA) will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of a curriculum that adheres to best practice performance standards, as well as other relevant standards. This position involves working closely with the lead teacher to develop and execute a curriculum that meets the educational needs of children in the program. The TA is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Department of Child, Youth and Families (DCYF) childcare regulations, Head Start regulations, and Pre-K regulations, which are essential for maintaining the quality and safety of the educational environment. Daily responsibilities include making observations regarding the health and well-being of children, reporting any conditions that require attention, and maintaining progress notes that document the emotional, physical, social, and cognitive development of assigned children. The TA will also communicate regularly with staff to discuss the individual needs of each child, ensuring that all children receive the support they require to thrive. In addition to these core responsibilities, the TA will collaborate with the Mentor-Coaching Team to implement strategies that foster the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth of each child. Participation in four parent-teacher conferences per year is expected, with a preference for conducting two conferences in the home and two at the educational site.
