About the position

The University of New England (UNE) is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor in Physics to join the School of Molecular and Physical Sciences. This position involves teaching undergraduate courses in physics, particularly the General Physics sequence, and engaging in curriculum development and academic advising. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative faculty environment focused on student-centered learning and interdisciplinary education.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the two-semester undergraduate General Physics sequence.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for physics courses.
  • Engage in academic advising and recruiting.
  • Participate in course and program assessment.
  • Provide service to the school, college, and university.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in physics or a closely related field required; preference for Ph.D. candidates.
  • Experience in teaching introductory physics for life and health science majors.
  • Training in physics education research and guided inquiry techniques is preferred.
  • Commitment to inclusive pedagogies that promote active engagement in learning.
