About the position

The Assistant Tennis Coach at Calex Sports Inc. is a part-time role focused on supporting clinics and after-school tennis programs for elementary school students in Grades K-3 across the Bay Area. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and tennis, assisting the lead coach in teaching and managing the program.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of ages 5 - 10 in after-school tennis programs.
• Assist the lead coach in teaching and overall program management.
• Attend a two-day training/shadowing session to familiarize yourself with the program.
• Transport tennis equipment to and from class.
• Set up the tennis equipment.
• Take attendance and sign in and sign out students for each class.

Requirements

• Must be 19+ years old upon application.
• Enjoy working with kids and can manage a class in a professional manner.
• Flexible, reliable, punctual, professional, and has an enthusiastic approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resilient, positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and within a small team.
• Have reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
• Willingness to undergo a live scan background check prior to working.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous teaching or playing experience in tennis is preferred but not required.
• USPTA/PTR certification is preferred but not required.
