About the position

The Assistant Toddler Teacher at Kids R Kids Learning Academy of Lawler Farm is responsible for creating a nurturing and educational environment for toddlers. This role involves supporting the lead teacher in implementing curriculum, ensuring the emotional and physical needs of children are met, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering the development of young learners.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a classroom environment that facilitates the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of children.
• Enrich the classroom with teacher-made materials and exhibits of child artwork.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, attractive, and well-organized classroom.
• Support the lead teacher in providing a nurturing environment for children.
• Plan, teach, and implement the curriculum for all children.
• Provide love and quality care for children throughout the day.
• Plan and execute indoor and outdoor experiences appropriate to the developmental levels of the children.
• Interact with children both physically and verbally throughout the day.
• Assist children with personal hygiene, including diaper changes and potty training.
• Serve and eat meals with the children.
• Meet with parents, staff, and administration as needed.
• Attend in-service and staff development training programs.
• Familiarity with state licensing requirements and policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or related fields.
• Passionate about working with children.
• Ability to build rapport with children.
• Positive and patient demeanor.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification (can be fulfilled upon hire).
• Background check and fingerprints (can be fulfilled upon hire).
• Physically able to keep up with active infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
• Ability to lift infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, run, and sit on the floor comfortably.
