About the position

The Assistant Transit Management Analyst I-II/ Associate Transit Management Analyst (Field Operations) position is a critical role within the New York City Transit Authority, specifically under the Subways Department. The incumbent will support the Chief Officer of Field Operations and the subdivisions A, B, and C. This role requires a strong understanding of dashboard performance metrics and the ability to work proficiently with Microsoft Office Suite. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating and providing data information through spreadsheets and various digital software applications. A key responsibility will involve extracting and processing data from UTS queries to reconcile overtime usage against budgetary goals. The role also demands a capacity to manage confidential information and adapt to spontaneous tasks as they arise. The incumbent will utilize various proprietary systems of NYCT to furnish management with essential information for SOAR, IODs, workforce availability, and compliance directives. This position is competitive and eligible for the 55-a Program, which allows for the consideration of qualified individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Officer, Field Operations and Subdivisions A, B, and C.
  • Utilize dashboard performance metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Create and provide data information via spreadsheets and digital software.
  • Extract and process data from UTS queries to reconcile overtime usage against budget/goals.
  • Manage and understand confidential information as required.
  • Adapt to and take on spontaneous tasks as needed.
  • Utilize various NYCT proprietary systems to provide management with necessary information for SOAR, IODs, workforce availability, and compliance directives.

Requirements

  • A master's degree from an accredited college in relevant fields such as business administration, public administration, engineering, economics, or related areas, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in data collection and evaluation; or a baccalaureate degree and two years of satisfactory experience.
  • For Associate Transit Management Analyst: A master's degree and two years of professional experience in data evaluation, with one year in the transportation industry; or a baccalaureate degree and three years of experience, with one year in the transportation industry.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Tableau, and Power BI applications.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities, along with strong writing, research, and interpretation skills.

  • Ability to function independently with limited work direction.
