About the position

The Assistant Two Year Old Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in managing the classroom and guiding children through educational activities. This role involves preparing materials, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and clean environment, while also assisting with lesson plans and daily classroom operations.

Responsibilities

• Assists and supervises children during all activities.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, Academy events, and parent meetings as requested.
• Develops plans and prepares instructional aids and materials for classroom activities as needed.
• Ensures the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom in accordance with NAEYC guidelines.
• Assists with meeting the physical and emotional needs of the children daily.
• Implements policies and procedures to keep children healthy and safe.
• Assists children with mealtimes and cleanup.
• Handles classroom paperwork, including daily notes, accident reports, and attendance reports.
• Assists with preparation and implementation of classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
• Ensures all classroom and outdoor equipment is in good working condition and used properly.
• Attends workshops, conferences, and in-service training as requested.
• Reports any problems to the Lead Teacher or Academy Director.

Requirements

• Must meet all state and local licensing requirements for the position.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age or in a high school work study program related to child care.
• Must receive the required amount of training hours each calendar year per state licensing requirements.
• Candidate must pass all state medical requirements and have a clear background check.
