About the position
The Assistant Varsity Track Coach at Hempfield High School is responsible for supporting the head coach in supervising training, practices, and instructional sessions for the track team. This part-time position focuses on fostering a positive team culture and ensuring a rewarding experience for student-athletes during the 2024-2025 school year.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all training, practices, and instructional sessions for the track team.
- Monitor the performance and conduct of athletes.
- Assist in cultivating and maintaining a positive team culture.
- Provide a positive experience for student-athletes.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the head coach.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- High school varsity level coaching experience in the direct sport preferred.
- Evidence of effective leadership of a scholastic squad (varsity, JV, junior high) preferred.
- Ability to articulate a vision for building/enhancing the scholastic program.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required.
Nice-to-haves
- Pole vault experience preferred.
