About the position

The Assistant Vice President - Fund Accounting at EisnerAmper is responsible for overseeing the training and work of Portfolio Accountants, managing client relationships, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for private equity funds. This role is integral to the Real Estate Systems Implementation Group (RESIG) and requires a strong background in fund accounting, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise training and review the work of 2-3 Portfolio Accountants.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, managing expectations and deliverables.
  • Manage and review daily accounting and financial reporting for private equity funds.
  • Prepare and review financial statements including balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Prepare and review general ledger and work paper files including capital and investment activity.
  • Create and review partner capital calls and statements, including partner allocations.
  • Calculate and review waterfall models, distribution notices, and management fees.
  • Review calculations of quarter-end final and estimated NAVs.
  • Assist in managing the year-end audit process and support external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent field is required.
  • 5+ years of private equity fund accounting experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA or parts passed towards completion.
  • Master's degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
  • Experience using Yardi and/or MRI.
  • Must be based in the tri-state area, with flexibility to work remotely.
