About the position

The Assistant VP, Industrial Water Treatment Engineer will manage clients, projects, and staff involved in various industrial and mine water treatment projects. This role includes designing treatment plants, providing procurement and construction support, and optimizing current operating plants. The position also involves business development, mentoring engineers, and ensuring adherence to ethical standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage clients, projects, and staff involved in industrial and mine water treatment projects.
  • Design industrial and mine water treatment plants, including alternatives analyses and process design.
  • Provide procurement and construction support for projects.
  • Support commissioning and start-up of water treatment plants.
  • Optimize current operating plants and make process decisions.
  • Initiate business development opportunities and develop proposals including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Mentor early career and mid-level engineers to support their growth and professional development.
  • Collaborate with professionals from various disciplines to provide solutions for clients.
  • Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering with a focus in Water Treatment or a closely related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer registration.
  • 10-15 years of relevant post-education experience in a design or consulting engineering firm working on industrial and mining water treatment projects.
  • Strong engineering skills in process development and detailed design projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as a self-starter.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing engineering teams on complex projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, along with graphics software for conceptual design.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • MSHA certification.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
