About the position

The Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Communications at Concordia University Wisconsin and Ann Arbor is responsible for leading a high-performing team to develop and execute marketing strategies that align with the university's mission. This role focuses on enhancing visibility, reputation, and engagement through digital-first marketing efforts, overseeing various marketing initiatives, and collaborating with internal departments to support enrollment and fiscal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and communicate a clear vision for marketing and communication strategy that aligns with the CUW and CUAA mission.
  • Oversee implementation of marketing and communication initiatives, including unified branding and messaging.
  • Lead digital marketing initiatives with a focus on utilizing video, web, and social media platforms.
  • Track and report on key metrics and outcomes to ensure data-driven marketing efforts.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and consultants to align marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with academic, enrollment, and operational leaders on strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee the strategic communications team, assisting with media exposure goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external media relations and manage crisis communications.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in marketing, communications, sales, or enrollment management, preferably in higher education or a faith-based organization.
  • Proven experience in managing a successful digital marketing, social media management, SEO/SEM, and video production department.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or commensurate professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, including SEM, SEO, paid social media advertising, and programmatic ad buying.
  • Well-developed communication skills and strong eye for both print and digital design.
