The Assistant Video Editor at The Trevor Project plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission to protect and affirm LGBTQ+ young people through impactful video content. This position is primarily responsible for editing social media clips for both paid and organic distribution, contributing to the creation of high-value content that resonates with a diverse audience, including LGBTQ+ youth, allies, youth-serving professionals, donors, and corporate partners. The Assistant Video Editor will work closely with the Video Editor and the Sr. Director of Content throughout the content creation process, from concept development to final delivery. This collaborative role involves assisting in larger video editing projects, managing media assets, and ensuring that all content meets the organization's standards for quality and inclusivity. In addition to editing responsibilities, the Assistant Video Editor will engage in various tasks such as basic color correction, sound mixing, captioning, and motion graphics. The role also includes setting up and organizing Adobe Premiere projects, participating in pre-production content development, and utilizing Adobe AI tools for interview transcription. The Assistant Video Editor is expected to demonstrate strong planning and problem-solving skills, work effectively within tight timelines, and maintain a commitment to fostering an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging. This position is grant-funded for a period of three years, with the potential for ongoing employment, making it an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ youth.
