About the position

The Assistant Video Producer and Graphic Designer at Johnson University plays a crucial role in the Communications and Marketing Office, focusing on creating high-quality video content and graphic designs to promote the university's brand. Responsibilities

  • Develop creative and engaging promotional videos for social media and the university website.
  • Design marketing materials including brochures, banners, and digital graphics.
  • Meet with faculty and staff to outline project goals for video and graphic design.
  • Coordinate the planning, capturing, and editing of video projects with the Creative Director.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team on cross-discipline projects.
  • Create camera-ready art or electronic files, managing design quality throughout all phases.
  • Maintain videography equipment and guide new equipment purchases.
  • Support the maintenance and updating of the Johnson University YouTube account.
  • Coordinate and train work study students in collaboration with the Creative Director.
  • Suggest ideas for new video and design projects to meet university goals.
  • Assist in managing and organizing digital asset archives.
  • Ensure consistency with Johnson's branding and identity standards.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in video storytelling, including planning, camera operation, and editing.
  • Proven experience in interpreting project goals and translating them into media.
  • At least one year of design experience using Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro).
  • Proficiency in CG applications like After Effects preferred.
  • Experience with Sony camera products.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Good communication and personal relationship skills, including problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • A Christian faith and support for Johnson University's mission and values.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience creating motion graphics and digital typography preferred.
