About the position

Kohlitz Animation & Video Production is seeking an Assistant Videographer to join our team for a two half-day video shoot at a manufacturing plant in Franklin, Indiana. The shoot is scheduled for October 1st from 1 PM to 5 PM and October 2nd from 8 AM to 12 PM. As an Assistant Videographer, you will play a crucial role in capturing high-quality video content, including interviews, b-roll, and tour footage. This position requires a collaborative spirit as you will be working closely with the lead videographer in a run-and-gun style production environment. The primary focus of the shoot will be to document the manufacturing process and provide a visual narrative through interviews and guided tours. You will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of the shoot, including setting up shots, operating your own camera equipment, and ensuring that all necessary footage is captured efficiently. Your ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle multiple responsibilities will be essential for the success of this project. Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead videographer during the video shoot at the manufacturing plant.
  • Capture high-quality interviews and b-roll footage.
  • Follow the guide during the tour and document the process on camera.
  • Set up and operate your own camera equipment, preferably Canon C70 and/or Canon R.
  • Assist with lighting and audio setup as needed, while the lead provides the main equipment.
  • Adapt to a run-and-gun shooting style and handle multiple responsibilities during the shoot.

Requirements

  • Experience shooting interviews and b-roll footage.
  • Proficiency in operating a gimbal or rig for smooth video capture.
  • Ability to work as a solo contractor on small team jobs.
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment with limited crew.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with the lead videographer.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Canon C70 and/or Canon R cameras.
  • Possession of additional equipment such as a gimbal or shoulder rig.
  • Previous work in corporate video production.
