About the position

The Assistant Videographer will work directly under the supervision of the Videographer & Editor at Tree House Brewing Company. This part-time position, requiring 20-30 hours per week, is based in Charlton, MA, but will also involve travel to other facilities, including South Deerfield, Tewksbury, Sandwich MA, and Woodstock CT. The primary responsibility of the Assistant Videographer is to assist in the planning, filming, and editing of videos that promote Tree House Brewing's products, locations, career opportunities, and overall culture. The ideal candidate will be organized, creative, and possess a strong mechanical aptitude, with a work ethic that emphasizes excellent organizational skills. They should be capable of developing and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships with all levels of staff, customers, and clients. The role requires an individual who can quickly adapt to the company’s culture and processes, takes pride in attention to detail, and understands the collective impact of their work within the brewery. Flexibility, a sense of humor, and strong communication skills are essential traits for success in this invigorating and dynamic environment. Key tasks include assisting in the delivery of video/audio files across various platforms, supporting the Videographer in the setup and maintenance of production equipment, and ensuring that all necessary preparations are made for filming projects. The Assistant Videographer will also be involved in editing film, including adding closed captioning, graphics, and special effects, while staying updated with industry trends to ensure high-quality outputs that align with the Tree House brand.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in successfully delivering video/audio files on various platforms.
  • Support the Videographer in setting up, tearing down, calibrating, cleaning, and maintaining a variety of cameras, audio recorders, lighting, microphones, and props.
  • Uploading and organizing project footage, exports, and versions in databases to ensure ease of access.
  • Ensuring that all necessary individuals, sets, and spaces are properly prepared for film projects.
  • Edit film as needed, including inserting closed captioning, graphics, or other on-screen text, and adding computer graphics and special effects to videos.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and tools to ensure projects are of the highest quality.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of proven work experience as a sound technician or videographer/editor.
  • Proficient in location sound mixing.
  • Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency with editing software such as PhotoShop, Lightroom, Final Cut, and Premiere Pro.
  • Creativity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to capture snippets of film and edit them into a cohesive story.
  • Flexibility and good listening skills.
  • A demonstrable portfolio of exceptional work.
  • Technical acumen to operate, configure, set up, and fix video, audio, lighting, or other production equipment.
  • Understanding of post-production techniques.
  • Ability to work in a variety of digital venues with software to edit and finish film work.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with computerized tape editing software and equipment.
  • Ability to work in outdoor elements, low and high temperatures, precipitation, and wind.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend over, and carry equipment up to 20 lbs. for extended periods.
