The Assistant Vice President of Transportation Operations & Customer Experience at Matson Logistics is a pivotal role responsible for implementing the company's Transportation line of business strategy. The AVP will establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the operations division, collaborating with the leadership team to develop and meet company goals. This includes recommending and implementing new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes. The AVP will maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management to ensure Matson is positioned to leverage technology that enhances customer experiences and operational efficiency. Additionally, the role requires the establishment of operations-related policies, practices, standards, and key performance measures to ensure effective order execution and customer experience. The AVP will also be responsible for budget administration, implementing improved processes for higher ROI, and leading programs that drive continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, experience, and cost management. This role requires analytical support for transportation operations and customer experience teams, prioritizing initiatives to optimize transportation and fleet management, and developing standard operating procedures to achieve business results. The AVP will engage with business stakeholders to assess the benefits, challenges, and risks of various solutions, preparing business plans and budgets for management. Furthermore, the AVP will facilitate best practices sessions, develop supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and contractual terms, and respond to business inquiries from customers and suppliers. Overall, the AVP will act as an agent for change, championing the implementation of new customers, suppliers, processes, and technologies to drive continuous improvement and achieve business goals, while remaining flexible to adapt to changing needs and conditions.
