The Assistant Warehouse Manager at Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the Distribution Center Manager by overseeing logistics and warehousing activities. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient operations, safety compliance, and quality standards in the distribution center, while also managing a team of warehouse associates and temporary workers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Warehouse Distribution
• Manage Warehouse Operations and Supervision
• Schedule and Route Deliveries
• Enforce Safety Protocols
• Supervise and Train Temporary Workers
• Facilitate Warehouse Training Programs
• Maintain Accurate Inventory Records
• Ensure OSHA Compliance
• Oversee Warehouse Maintenance
• Coordinate shipments with carriers and oversee facility operations in the absence of the Distribution Manager
• Lead monthly safety meetings to reinforce safety best practices
• Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans for warehouse personnel

Requirements

• Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years experience in a distribution center/manufacturing environment or other operations role
• An Associates Degree in Business Management or Operations Management; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Must have Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel and Outlook), and SAP
• Must be bilingual English/Spanish
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented with skills in handling multiple assignments
• Experience with Oracle ERP or similar WMS software, and TMS, RF/RFID hardware systems is a plus
• Experience with ISO documentation standards and/or general process flow documentation is preferred
• Experience implementing Six Sigma, TQC, Kaizen, lean operating processes, or statistical process controls is a plus
