About the position

The Associate Credit Analyst at The E.W. Scripps Company is responsible for interpreting credit reports, assessing customer creditworthiness, and establishing credit limits based on predetermined guidelines. This role involves balancing revenue and inventory risk while processing credit-related tasks for advertising orders and supporting accounts receivable and cross-functional teams with credit issues.

Responsibilities

• Review credit reports and make decisions on credit limits for new and existing agency/advertisers.
• Process credit clearing for various advertising types including spot, digital, non-spot, and political advertising.
• Place advertising orders on credit hold due to late payments or lack of commitment to pay.
• Research payments for cash in advance and past due balances.
• Make accounts receivable calls and coordinate with Account Executives/Managers for action commitments before clearing orders.
• Perform monthly reviews of credit balances and short pays by station.
• Support Credit/Collection calls as needed.
• Assist department leaders with projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• BS/BA in a related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• Typically requires little or no prior experience in the area of responsibility with a BS/BA in a related discipline.
• Strong computer and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of credit processing and collection procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to adapt during times of change while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Solid oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
