About the position

The Associate Analyst Systems IT position at Medline Industries, Inc. is a hybrid role that requires attendance at the Northfield office at least three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday), with potential secondary work at the Libertyville office. This role is pivotal in collaborating with business partners and application development teams to deliver and maintain essential technology solutions. The Systems Analyst will be responsible for updates to applications and technology platforms, setting up monitoring systems, responding to issues, troubleshooting, and general maintenance of the systems. In this role, the analyst will act as a liaison between various IT infrastructure, security, and development teams. They will address requests, inquiries, and escalations from customers, help desk personnel, or business partners. The position requires a proactive approach to system analysis and administration, ensuring that all software and infrastructure components are compliant and up-to-date. The analyst will also be involved in release management, adhering to IS change management policies to ensure reliable deployments and roll-backs. The role demands a strong focus on monitoring and support, where the analyst will collaborate with infrastructure and application development teams to design effective monitoring and alerting plans. They will respond to system anomalies, conduct root-cause analyses for incidents, and maintain a knowledge base for resolving repetitive requests. Overall, this position is integral to maintaining the integrity and performance of Medline's IT systems, ensuring that they meet the needs of the business and its partners.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners and application development teams to build, refine, test, secure, and debug system capabilities as needed.
  • Author and maintain system and process documentation, including workflow charts, diagrams, and system specifications.
  • Conduct peer reviews and provide guidance to other team members as needed.
  • Design an effective system monitoring and alerting plan in collaboration with infrastructure and application development teams.
  • Respond to system anomalies, such as performance or vulnerability alerts, and partner with respective teams to remediate them.
  • Respond to inquiries from business partners and support calls/tickets escalated by help desk.
  • Author and maintain a knowledge base for effective resolution of repetitive requests and inquiries.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for system-related incidents and facilitate root-cause analysis for incidents related to infrastructure or other externally managed dependencies.
  • Ensure all software and infrastructure components have the required patches and plan/deploy updates as needed.
  • Contribute to system compliance audits, such as HITRUST, and create and maintain standard operating procedures as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to IS change management policies, identifying and executing best practices for deployment and roll-back processes.
