About the position

The Associate Director of Supply Chain at Verizon will manage a team responsible for supporting Global Operations, focusing on transportation initiatives for Devices, Network, Value, and International logistics. This role involves evaluating transportation models, implementing cost containment strategies, and leading cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders while overseeing transportation dashboarding and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team with various responsibilities for supporting Global Operations.
  • Act as the lead subject matter expert on new initiatives and projects across the transportation team.
  • Support scoping initiatives and build out business cases for implementation.
  • Evaluate the current transportation model and identify strategies to decrease costs while meeting service level commitments.
  • Lead a team responsible for analyzing cost containment initiatives and process improvements across the transportation network.
  • Lead cross-functional matrix teams while implementing new projects.
  • Oversee transportation dashboarding and reporting maintenance.
  • Manage the 3rd party freight auditor for auditing transportation spend.
  • Produce and deliver reports to senior management to track productivity, quality, and efficiency of carriers.
  • Drive tactical transportation cost containment initiatives.

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience in transportation operations or military experience.
  • Experience managing a team and transportation operations.
  • Strong technical experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to identify trends in data.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • A degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business.
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and establish realistic timelines.
  • Strong relationship management skills with various stakeholders.
