About the position

The Associate Director of Opinion Leader & Medical Marketing at Neurocrine Biosciences is responsible for leading a team that develops and executes strategic brand strategies in medical marketing. This role involves overseeing various educational initiatives, managing relationships with key opinion leaders, and ensuring compliance with company policies while driving marketing initiatives for both patient and healthcare professional audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic Opinion Leader and Medical Marketing brand strategies.
  • Oversee the Peer-to-Peer Speaker Bureau and Patient Ambassador programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on program management and content development.
  • Drive the implementation of company policies impacting patient and healthcare professional engagements.
  • Develop engagement strategies and build relationships with key influencers.
  • Lead the execution of customer engagement plans to meet business objectives.
  • Manage patient educational conference promotional opportunities and related contracts.
  • Coordinate with medical education agencies and internal groups on promotional activities.
  • Support advisory board meetings in partnership with agency partners and internal marketing team.
  • Guide the team in executing peer-to-peer activities and managing patient ambassador programs.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in marketing or life sciences and 10+ years of related experience, including 5+ years in a marketing role for a pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device company OR Master's degree in marketing or life sciences and 8+ years of experience noted above.
  • Pharmaceutical Sales, Marketing and/or Account Management experience required.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to effectively combine scientific knowledge and communication skills.
  • Experience implementing marketing programs with measurable business impact.
  • Expertise in managing and collaborating with multiple vendors and agency partners.
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions.
  • Track record of building strong cross-functional relationships with various departments.
  • Previous managerial/functional management experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience operating in a field-based promotional role (sales, thought leader liaison, field marketing, etc.).
  • Emerging as an internal thought leader with technical and/or business expertise.
