About the position

The Assoc Network Ops Engineer is responsible for monitoring and managing network operations, focusing on telephone, IP, and video elements within network facilities. This role involves initial triage, escalation, and resolution of network issues, as well as vendor engagement and providing enterprise-wide Tiered support. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with various teams to ensure customer satisfaction and service reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support efforts to enhance the customer experience.
  • Perform basic network operations functions, including monitoring and identifying component deterioration.
  • Identify, notify, and escalate network issues as necessary.
  • Respond to network alarms to resolve customer-impacting issues promptly.
  • Process equipment return and analysis requests for failed hardware.
  • Compose and send outage notifications to inform stakeholders of major incidents.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for various internal organizations.
  • Respond to emails from internal groups and external vendors regarding customer issues.
  • Escalate major incidents impacting customers and installations to relevant verticals.
  • Manage outage bridges under supervision to drive quick resolutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, field technicians, and vendors to resolve service issues.
  • Resolve network problems and escalate as necessary.
  • Track and update problems in the trouble ticketing system.
  • Monitor traffic patterns to identify potential issues and escalate for corrective action.
  • Identify alarm correlations and appropriate response actions for automation.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Technology or Sciences, or equivalent work experience.
  • 0-2 years of network troubleshooting and/or surveillance experience.
  • Ability to work in a teamwork environment.
  • Knowledge of network operations and tools.
  • Ability to work with internal and external clients and vendors.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correlate events and alarms.
  • Knowledge of topology, platforms, and protocols for IP, Voice, and Video networks.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to triage and correlate events/alarms.
