About the position

The Associate Network Operations Engineer is responsible for reactive monitoring of core telephone, IP, and Video elements within network facilities. This role involves initial triage, escalation, and resolution of network troubles, as well as vendor engagement. The engineer provides enterprise-wide Tiered support on converged distribution and access network elements and connections, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reactive monitoring of all core level telephone, IP, and Video elements within network facilities.
  • Conduct initial triage, escalation, and resolution of network troubles.
  • Engage with vendors to resolve service issues.
  • Provide enterprise-wide Tiered support on converged distribution and access network elements and connections.
  • Monitor information on all sites and backhaul, identifying deterioration of components.
  • Dispatch and assist field personnel with repairs as needed.
  • Identify, notify, and escalate network issues promptly.
  • Respond to network alarms to discover and resolve customer-impacting issues before they are recognized by customers.
  • Process equipment return and analysis requests for failed hardware.
  • Compose and send outage notifications to inform a wide audience of high-risk network events and major incidents.
  • Act as a technical escalation for various internal organizations.
  • Manage outage bridges to drive quick resolution to customer-impacting issues under supervision.
  • Track and update problems in the trouble ticketing system.
  • Monitor traffic patterns to identify potential problem areas and escalate as necessary.
  • Identify alarm correlations and appropriate response actions for future automation.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Technology or Sciences or industry certification or equivalent work experience.
  • 0-2 years of network troubleshooting and/or surveillance experience.
  • Ability to work in a teamwork environment.
  • Knowledge of network operations and ability to work with internal and external clients, various operation support groups, vendors, and carriers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correlate events and alarms.
  • Knowledge of topology, platforms, and protocols for IP, Voice, and Video networks.
  • Familiarity with network operations tools and ticketing platforms.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to triage and correlate event/alarms.
