The Associate Account Manager position is a pivotal role within our client's organization, which is recognized as one of the largest machine tool distribution networks in North America. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the field of sales, particularly in the CNC machine tools sector. The Associate will work closely with an experienced Account Manager for the first 12 to 24 months, gaining invaluable insights into the business and developing essential skills necessary for success in this industry. The primary focus will be on prospecting, forecasting, demoing, and ultimately closing business within the assigned territory, which encompasses the New England states, northern New Jersey, and eastern New York, including the New York metropolitan area and Long Island. In this role, the Associate will be responsible for managing their time effectively to ensure comprehensive coverage of their territory. They will engage in various activities, including making prospecting calls, scheduling appointments, delivering presentations, and preparing proposals. The Associate will also assist in the development of annual business plans and sales strategies aimed at achieving company sales goals and profitability. A key aspect of the position involves initiating and coordinating action plans to penetrate new markets, providing timely feedback to management regarding their activities and performance, and ensuring that customer commitments are met to guarantee satisfaction. The Associate will interact with customers and engineers during pre-sale activities, which include customer visits, evaluating opportunities, and making recommendations for machine assessments and part processing. Building and maintaining strong relationships with machine tool vendors and other third-party vendors is also crucial. The Associate will be expected to adhere to all company policies and business ethics, participate in ongoing training and seminars, and maintain a deep technical knowledge of the product lines represented by the company. Additionally, they will be responsible for integrating their sales activities into the CRM system (Salesforce) and managing forecasting and lead management effectively.
