About the position
The Associate Accountant at Tyson is responsible for the accurate preparation and reporting of all cost and financial information within the plant. This role involves generating production cost reports, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. The position is based onsite at the Enid Plant in Oklahoma, working Monday to Friday during the first shift.
Responsibilities
- Create cost sheets from supplied CRFs.
- Obtain production details from Plant Management.
- Build BOM in BOM Portal & publish to SAP after approvals from SC Finance.
- Review GSM spec changes in BOM Portal and publish to SAP.
- Update Spec Change log for Period Cost Comparison file.
- Assist Plant Controller with weekly Plant Score Card reporting and month-end close process.
- Update and distribute production reports daily.
- Process Purchase to Pay (P2P) transactions and payment processing.
- Assist in research and resolution of questions and issues in the P2P process.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist with ad hoc management reports and projects as they arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
- 6+ months work experience preferred but not required.
- Standard computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- SAP experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to set priorities.
