About the position

The Associate Accountant will assist the Managing Partner in managing day-to-day, monthly, and year-end accounting operations for clients. This role involves preparing financial statements, maintaining client accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist Managing Partner with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of clients' accounting and reporting requirements.
• Prepare a chart of accounts for setting up client accounts in QuickBooks or other software as needed.
• Post daily transactions into clients' general ledger.
• Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements and fixed assets.
• Work with clients in analyzing and organizing financial data for reporting.
• Assist clients in analyzing new acquisitions and posting in the general ledger based on client requirements.
• Assist clients in preparing distributions.
• Migrate data from legacy accounting systems to new systems.
• Prepare period-end financial statements, including balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statements, and submit for client's review.
• Coordinate with clients on day-to-day accounting/financial issues and work to resolve them as required.
• Work with clients during year-end, federal, and state audits.
• Assist Managing Partner with billing, collection, and managing payables.
• Work with tax clients, including collection of data, analyzing, and assembling for tax preparations.
• Maintain calendar for important deadlines and work with Managing Partner to ensure compliance.
• Respond to clients on accounting and tax matters as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• 6 months of experience as an Associate Accountant, Accountant, Deputy Financial Controller, or related role.
