About the position

DeVry University is seeking an Associate Accounting Professor to join our faculty team. The ideal candidate will possess a Doctorate Degree in Accounting or a related field, with a strong commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment that promotes intellectual curiosity, academic integrity, and critical thinking skills among students. As an Associate Accounting Professor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality courses across various modalities, totaling 42 to 47 credit hours. You will engage in scholarly activities, including course development and assessment support, while staying current in your field of study. Mentoring and advising students, as well as supporting visiting professors, will be key components of your role. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to select a pathway for leadership within the Teaching and Learning organization, contributing to initiatives such as the Center for Teaching Excellence or Faculty Leadership and Development. Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality courses totaling 42 to 47 credit hours across various modalities.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including course development and assessment support.
  • Mentor and advise students to support their academic and professional growth.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Visiting Professors.
  • Support group programs and initiatives within the university.
  • Select a leadership pathway to contribute to the Teaching and Learning organization.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree in Accounting or a related field with 15 graduate hours in Accounting.
  • Current CPA licensure preferred.
  • Three to five years of relevant business or industry experience.
  • Two to five years of previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ongoing scholarly activity in the field of accounting.
