About The Position

Ares is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join the Alternative Credit investment team, focusing on Asset Management. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or related field
  • 2+ years of finance or accounting experience with exposure to structured finance/securitization preferred
  • Advanced MS Excel modeling skills (index + match, macros, and array formulas)
  • Intermediate MS PowerPoint skills
  • Strong communication, quantitative, financial, and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and driven; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative problem solver
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Impeccable integrity and trustworthiness

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in structured finance or securitization
  • Familiarity with discounted cash flow models

Responsibilities

  • Monitor portfolio of private investments
  • Provide support to the deal team with assigned investments
  • Manage general asset management tasks including confirming fundings, processing settlements, valuations, and reporting
  • Communicate frequently with portfolio companies
  • Develop and run complex models for valuation and reporting purposes
  • Perform mark-to-market valuations
  • Analyze asset-level trends and metrics
