About the position

The Enterprise Info Security Associate Analyst at T-Mobile is a critical entry-level role within the 24x7 Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC). This position focuses on monitoring, triaging, and responding to real-time security alerts to protect the organization's infrastructure and data. The Associate Analyst will collaborate with experienced cybersecurity professionals, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic environment while contributing to the overall security posture of T-Mobile.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor incoming security alerts and events from various sources and triage incidents based on severity and impact.
  • Perform initial alert/event/incident triage and analysis to determine appropriate courses of action.
  • Collect and organize alert, event, and triage data to produce reports and measure relevant KPIs.
  • Document investigation case notes and ensure relevant details are communicated to higher tiers for advanced analysis.
  • Collaborate with higher-tier support teams to investigate raised incidents.
  • Maintain CSOC shift logs with relevant activity from analyst shifts.
  • Participate in internal meetings for knowledge transfer and team collaboration.
  • Engage in regular training to stay updated on new technologies and methodologies.
  • Stay informed on the latest vulnerabilities, threats, and attacks globally.
  • Report high-severity or high-urgency security incidents to the Cyber Incident Response Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Less than 2 years of experience in info security technology or a related field.
  • Less than 2 years of experience in technology operations.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, topology, OSI model and security), operating systems (Windows/UNIX), and web technologies (Internet security).
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting Cyber Security Operations.
  • Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions.
  • Experience with enterprise systems or network administration.
