About the position

The Associate Analyst - Policy and Compliance plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with energy procurement risk management policies and strategies in alignment with state and federal regulations. Reporting to the Manager of Qualitative Risk and Compliance, this position is integral in advancing the company's qualitative energy procurement risk management framework and supporting communication with auditors and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor Energy Risk control framework.
  • Manage daily risk control processes.
  • Manage transaction Confirmation process via eConfirm or manually.
  • Work closely with traders verifying accuracy of trading tickets and Allegro deal entries.
  • Maintain Allegro trade modification spreadsheet and Late entry spreadsheet as per control framework and monitor trader errors.
  • Manage internal and external audits including tracking of agreed management actions.
  • Coordinate risk management committee meetings and documentation requirements.
  • Analyze and manage documentation of transaction strategies proposed by energy traders.
  • Assist Manager in the development and implementation of risk policies/procedures.
  • Assist with commodity contract administration, including negotiation of financial and physical master agreements.
  • Coordinate quarterly financial reporting activities and produce EPRM final document.
  • Communicate with external and internal stakeholders including vendors. Process invoice payments.

Requirements

  • Experience with auditing processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics required
  • Minimum 1 year of compliance work experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Allegro® Horizon Energy Transaction Risk Management system
  • Knowledge of ICE Trade Vault®
  • Familiarity with North East Power and Natural Gas markets
  • Familiarity with Power, Natural Gas, Renewables transaction processes
  • Familiarity with Energy contracts such as ISDAs, NAESBs, and MPAs
  • Familiarity with Energy Risk Management compliance requirements including SOX, Dodd-Frank, and EMIR
  • MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Analytics
