About the position

The Associate Application Engineer at Chromalox plays a crucial role in analyzing heating applications and designing innovative, customer-focused solutions. This position involves working closely with the sales team to develop cost-effective solutions for unique heating and temperature control applications, providing technical support, and collaborating with design engineering to ensure successful order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and quote premium solutions for standard and customer-specific thermal applications.
  • Coordinate quotation and order entry activities with sales force, engineering, and plant personnel, including sample orders and drawings for approval.
  • Understand markets and competition in each market to manage quotations of competitive designs.
  • Assist sales engineers with expertise in offering optimal thermal solutions for unique applications.
  • Determine materials and related cost requirements for product designs by working with engineering and purchasing departments.
  • Manage pricing and margin targets for crucial accounts and new opportunities.
  • Become proficient in using product design and pricing tools.
  • Assist customers and representatives in troubleshooting common problems with equipment or applications.
  • Approve and support orders; strategically partner with design engineering and sales to be vital in designing and order support.
  • Lead meetings with engineering, production, project management, finance, and sales to gain visibility and communicate accurate dates to customers for large order opportunities.
  • Assist in documenting, analyzing, and improving processes.
  • Support or facilitate process improvement projects and strategic projects as required.

Requirements

  • At least 1+ years of related experience; an appropriate technical degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering is preferred.
  • Working experience with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formats to all audiences.
  • Strong customer service and time management skills.
