About the position

The Associate, Application Engineering role at BlackRock involves developing scalable software to enhance the platform for performance and attribution analysis. The position requires collaboration with various technology teams to design and implement software solutions that meet business needs, while also supporting internal software systems and addressing client inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable software to enhance the performance and attribution analysis platform.
• Partner with technology teams to design, engineer, and implement software solutions.
• Support and engineer internal software systems.
• Investigate internal and external client inquiries using existing systems.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Engineering, Management & Attribution specialists for quality analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 24 months of experience in a Software Developer or related role.
• Experience utilizing Java code language.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams using Agile Scrum Methodology.
• Experience implementing code using object-oriented analysis and design.
• Experience leveraging SQL databases for creating procedures and functions.
• Experience supporting the creation and implementation of REST Web-Services and APIs.
• Experience with Apache Maven for dependency management.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment using Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Linux, Apache Cassandra, Apache Kafka, and GraphQL.
