This position is eligible for telework two (2) days a week, in accordance with DGS's Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment. Under the general supervision of the Supervising Architect, the incumbent provides recommendations on the most difficult access code compliance issues and established policy. Assists team(s) on various projects to ensure consistency in the application and implementation of access policies. Conducts regulatory development for the California Building Code accessibility regulations. Essential functions include the requirement to work in the office for a minimum of three (3) days per week up to a maximum of five (5) days per week depending on operational needs. This position may be upgraded to Senior Architect for recruitment purposes. If upgraded, duties will be adjusted accordingly. This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.
