About the position

The Associate Athletic Director / Director of Development for Omaha Athletics is a strategic fundraising partner responsible for leading the fundraising efforts for the University of Nebraska at Omaha's NCAA Division I athletic program. This role involves building and implementing a major gift fundraising strategy, cultivating relationships with donors, and collaborating with university administrators and coaches to enhance philanthropic support for Omaha Athletics.

Responsibilities

• Lead the fundraising enterprise for securing private support for Omaha Athletics.
• Build and implement a major gift fundraising program.
• Identify and cultivate major gift prospects.
• Solicit gifts and ensure appropriate stewardship of donors.
• Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and contributions.
• Collaborate with the Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics to establish fundraising priorities.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the University of Nebraska Foundation and Omaha Athletics.
• Communicate effectively with administrators, faculty, and volunteers.
• Participate in the leadership team for both the UNO Advancement Team and Omaha Athletics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years' experience in development or a related field with transferable skills.
• Experience in athletics fundraising preferred.
• Demonstrated success in soliciting annual and major gifts.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously.
• Discretion in handling confidential matters.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in higher education fundraising.
• Knowledge of NCAA Division I athletics.
