About the position

The Associate Athletic Director for Advancement at Radford University is a strategic fundraising partner responsible for securing gifts to support the fundraising goals of Radford Athletics. This role emphasizes collaboration with the Vice President of Advancement and the Director of Athletics, focusing on developing strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors. The position requires extensive travel and active participation in athletic programming and community events.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic fundraising partner for the Vice President of Advancement and Director of Athletics.
• Secure gifts to support the fundraising goals of Radford Athletics.
• Develop strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors.
• Create an annual work plan outlining communication, engagement, and fundraising strategies for assigned prospects.
• Enlist support from University partners to develop appropriate strategies for donors.
• Attend and support athletic programming and community events, including speaking engagements and campus events.
• Provide support for the Athletic Foundation Board and recommend prospective members for consideration.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Exceptional written, oral, and public speaking skills.
• Proven track record of exceeding established goals in fundraising.
• Demonstrated experience in acquiring philanthropic support for athletics.
• Proficiency in technology, including personal computers, and ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
