About the position

The Associate Athletic Director for Compliance (AADC) at California State University, Sacramento, is responsible for overseeing and implementing the Athletic Compliance program to ensure adherence to NCAA regulations and institutional control. The AADC collaborates closely with the Athletic Director, Faculty Athletic Representative, and supervises compliance staff and interns, managing a budget of $250,000 while engaging with NCAA and conference representatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and implement the Athletic Compliance program to ensure adherence to NCAA regulations.
• Facilitate educational initiatives regarding NCAA Compliance rules and regulations.
• Monitor compliance activities and conduct investigations as necessary.
• Supervise three full-time compliance staff and two to three interns.
• Manage a budget of $250,000 for compliance activities.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director and Faculty Athletic Representative on compliance matters.
• Engage with representatives from the Big Sky and other affiliate conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in higher education, sports management, business administration, law, or related field.
• Five or more years of experience in NCAA Division I compliance.
• Experience handling compliance issues with internal and external stakeholders.
• Two or more years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience in compiling, preparing, and reviewing compliance reports.
• Ability to conduct thorough investigations with confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Juris Doctor degree.
• Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistant and Legislative Services Database.
• Involvement in professional societies and organizations.
