About the position

The Associate Athletic Director for External Relations at La Salle University plays a pivotal role within the Athletic Department's leadership team, dedicated to fostering educational and competitive excellence. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the revenue generation and marketing functions of the athletics program, enhancing gameday experiences, and managing communications and external affairs. The individual in this role will lead initiatives aimed at increasing attendance at athletic events, driving ticket sales, and developing partnerships that contribute to the financial health of the department. In addition to revenue generation through ticket sales, partnerships, and merchandise, the Associate Athletic Director will implement strategic marketing plans designed to enhance the fan experience. This includes game scripting and production, ensuring that all events are engaging and professionally executed. The role also involves managing the day-to-day operations of various teams, including Marketing, Revenue, Digital Media, and Athletic Communications, while providing direction and vision to these areas. The Associate Athletic Director will also be responsible for organizing and supervising live video streaming of all home athletic events, ensuring that La Salle University’s athletic programs are showcased effectively. Furthermore, the position requires the management of public relations strategies to promote the Athletic Department's initiatives and maintain positive relationships with external partners, including alumni and corporate sponsors. The individual will represent La Salle Athletics at various conferences and events, contributing to the overall visibility and reputation of the university's athletic programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead in-game marketing and promotions to deliver a professional fan experience.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase attendance, ticket revenue, and exposure of athletic events.
  • Support and grow Name, Image, and Likeness efforts through marketing and promotion of Student-Athlete NIL opportunities.
  • Grow ticket sales revenue by developing operational strategies and maintaining ticket holder relationships.
  • Grow corporate partnership revenue by developing strategies targeting local, regional, and national businesses.
  • Organize and supervise the live, multi-camera video streaming of all home athletic events.
  • Manage public relations strategies to ensure a proactive mindset for all programs, coaches, events, and staff.
  • Supervise all online content distributed across departmental mediums including social media and the athletics website.
  • Nurture and maintain a positive working relationship with the Atlantic 10 Conference and affiliate conferences.
  • Serve as the primary communications liaison to Alumni Relations and Development staffs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a public relations practitioner.
  • Knowledge and experience in NCAA rules and compliance is required.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
