About the position

The Financial Analyst for the Athletics Department plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the department. This position involves budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis, working closely with senior leadership, coaches, and staff to provide expert guidance on financial matters. The analyst will also focus on improving financial processes and implementing initiatives that drive strategic decision-making within the department.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day financial operations including budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis.
• Work closely with senior leadership, coaches, and staff to provide guidance on financial matters.
• Prepare budgets and conduct financial forecasting and reporting.
• Improve financial processes and implement process improvement initiatives.
• Partner with other departments to drive strategic decision-making through collaboration.
• Address policy and process questions related to financial operations.
• Evaluate financial systems and reporting, and provide training and ad hoc reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly in Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of fiscal policies and processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting administration.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
