About the position

The Associate Athletic Director, Sport Success plays a crucial role in the Department of Athletics at IMG Academy, focusing on ensuring that student-athletes receive the highest quality of training and development. This leadership position collaborates closely with sport leadership and is responsible for implementing player development programs, maintaining standards across all sport programs, and integrating various training components to enhance the overall athletic experience. The role emphasizes accountability, communication, and the use of technology to support training and competition.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sport leadership to implement player development and training programs.
  • Work with Sport Directors to ensure coaching and training programs align with established principles and standards.
  • Design and implement consistent team and training group structures across each sport.
  • Measure success of each group and team against established objectives annually.
  • Assist Sport Directors in developing and reviewing competition schedules for each sport program.
  • Lead the use of Teamworks for communication among parents, athletes, and staff.
  • Monitor NPS scores related to sport training and competition delivery.
  • Partner with Athletic & Personal Development Department to create annual training plans.
  • Establish standards for the utilization of Athlete Management System and other key technologies.
  • Oversee the coaching education program to meet the demands of IMG Academy coaches.
  • Collaborate with HR on staffing, recruitment, and coach ratios for sport programs.
  • Manage Athletics video staff and monitor international sport development trends.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Academy's strategic plan.
  • Assist the VP Athletics in ensuring sport program delivery aligns with the Academy's vision and mission.
  • Conduct research projects to enhance decision-making by management.
  • Act as a liaison between Sport Directors, Program Managers, and other staff.
  • Assist in developing candidate pools for Academy positions and manage athletic staff evaluations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of post-education experience in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in athletic administration.
  • Strong commitment to the student-athlete concept and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in business, Sports Management, Education, or related field.
  • Experience as a collegiate or professional student-athlete.
