The Associate Athletic Director (Athletic Compliance) at Prairie View A&M University serves as the overall administrator responsible for the development and monitoring of all systems designed to ensure compliance with NCAA, Southwestern Athletic Conference, and University rules. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the athletic program by ensuring that all operations adhere to the established regulations governing amateurism, eligibility, financial aid, and other compliance-related matters for 18 intercollegiate sports. The selected candidate will be expected to provide leadership and oversight for a comprehensive compliance program, which includes coordinating athletics compliance rules education programs, conducting rules meetings, and preparing educational materials for staff and student-athletes. In addition to overseeing compliance education, the Associate Athletic Director will act as a liaison between the NCAA, Eligibility Center, Conference, and other institutions. This role requires the individual to lead the compliance staff, evaluate their performance, and ensure that the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Office are executed effectively. The responsibilities also include developing strategic plans to address potential compliance conflicts, investigating and self-reporting rule violations, and maintaining accurate records and reports as mandated by various agencies. The position demands a proactive approach to monitoring student-athlete eligibility, financial aid allocations, and compliance with NCAA regulations. The Associate Athletic Director will also oversee the clearance process for student-athletes, manage the complimentary ticket process, and ensure that all required documentation is submitted in a timely manner. This role is essential in fostering a culture of compliance within the athletic department and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and educated about the relevant rules and regulations.
